26.2 the sequel

so today i ran my second marathon. not gonna lie, this one was a lot harder than my last even though it was on the same course. simply put i spent way too much time on my bicycle this summer and not enough time running. then about a month out from the race i started having ridiculous leg pain when i ran. i could hardly even complete a single mile. i ordered up some new shoes and it  took care of the problem, except for the part were i was sicker than a dog right up till race day. so i hardly even ran in the month leading up to the race.

the race came, and went. the weather was beautiful, and i flew threw the first ten miles. i felt wonderful, at mile 13. my left knee started to hurt so bad i wanted to cry, but i pushed through. i was on pace for a 3:45 marathon at mile 20. then i completely hit the wall. i struggled through the last 6.2 miles, but was still able to finish with 3:54.58, or roughly about 18 min faster than last years race. so for being  ill prepared, i think i did pretty dam well.

high lights included Mara Larson from the mountain bike patrol telling me that she was feeling better than i would tomorrow. and Dave Brunning my BCR teammate have a icy cold PBR for me at just before the 26th mile. i crossed the line pounding a beer. fuck yea.

any way results can be found here you'll want to enter my first name, last name and bib number. ie. tim werts 2210 in the corresponding spots.
